Accessibility statement.
We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible. This statement explains the standards we aim for, the known limitations and how to tell us about a problem.

1. Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That covers four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
2. How accessible this site is
We believe most of this site meets that standard. In particular:
- Pages are built with semantic HTML and clear heading structure.
- Colour contrast meets AA contrast ratios for body text.
- Form fields are labelled and validation errors are announced in text.
- Interactive elements can be reached with the keyboard.
- The site adapts to text resizing up to 200% without loss of content.
- Motion and reveal animations use short, subtle transitions.
3. Known limitations
We are aware of some areas where the site does not yet fully meet AA. We are working to fix these:
- The coverage map is a decorative SVG without an interactive non-visual equivalent. The information shown is also presented as a region list immediately beside it.
- Reveal-on-scroll animations may be distracting on some devices. We honour the operating system "reduced motion" preference where supported.
- Some interactive accents (hover colours, micro-animations) are presentational and do not carry meaning on their own.
4. Assistive technology
We test with the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari) and with built-in operating system screen readers. If you use assistive technology and find a page difficult, please tell us — we treat that feedback as a priority.
5. Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find something that does not work for you, or you need information from this site in a different format (large print, plain text email, audio), please contact us:
- Email enquiries@scottinspectionservices.co.uk
- Telephone 0333 772 4704
We aim to respond within five working days.
6. Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in Scotland, England and Wales. If you are unhappy with how we respond to a complaint about accessibility you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
7. How we test
Pages are reviewed manually against the WCAG 2.1 AA checklist and with automated tools during development. We re-check after any significant change to layout or content.
