1. About us
This site is operated by Scott Inspection Services Ltd, an independent provider of LOLER thorough examination and PUWER inspection services. You can reach us at enquiries@scottinspectionservices.co.uk or on 0333 772 4704.
2. Using this site
You may use this site for lawful, personal and business purposes connected with arranging a statutory examination or learning about our service. You agree not to use the site in any way that:
- Breaks any applicable law or regulation.
- Disrupts, damages or impairs the site or the servers it runs on.
- Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, the systems behind it or any connected network.
3. Information on this site
The content on this site is provided as general information about our service. It is not a substitute for a thorough examination, an inspection report or formal advice. The regulations referenced (including LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998) are summarised in plain language and you should consult the regulations themselves for definitive wording.
We aim to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that everything on it is free of error or omission, or that pages will always be available.
4. Our services
Any work we carry out — thorough examination, inspection, written scheme drafting, defect categorisation, reporting — is provided under a separate written engagement. Statutory records and reports of thorough examination are issued to the duty holder under the regulations and are the authoritative record of an examination.
5. Enquiries through the site
Sending an enquiry through the contact form, by email or by telephone does not create a contract. We will confirm scope, attendance and pricing by return before any work is booked.
6. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded as a matter of law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the information on this site, including any decision taken in reliance on it. Terms covering liability for the services we provide are set out in the engagement we agree with you for that work.
7. Intellectual property
All content, branding and design on this site is owned by Scott Inspection Services Ltd or licensed for our use. You may view, print and share pages for non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, modify or republish the content without our permission.
8. Links to other sites
We may link to third-party sites for information. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you use the site. The "last updated" date above shows when the terms were last reviewed.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from your use of the site are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
