PUWER work equipment inspections
Risk-based inspection of work equipment to confirm it is suitable, correctly installed and safe to operate in the conditions where it is used.
A clear examination and a usable record.
PUWER applies broadly to machinery, plant, tools and installations used at work. Where installation, deterioration or exceptional circumstances could create significant risk, suitable inspection is required. We assess the safety-related parts relevant to the equipment and provide a clear inspection record.
Before the visit we agree which equipment will be available, the inspection basis and any access requirements. If a finding needs urgent action, it is explained at the time rather than left for the report alone.
Read the relevant HSE guidance ↗Typical equipment we inspect.
